Special Guest Appearance from Pumpy the Possum

16 Apr

Keen students of “The Management Secrets of T. John Dick” will remember TJ’s outside the box promotional campaign for SuperPumps Inc. featuring a character named Pumpy the Possum. While the campaign was not an unqualified success, Pumpy himself has become something of a legend and can claim, with some justification, to be American business’s most celebrated marsupial.

We were honored by a visit from the furry icon himself, when he stopped by the Gump mansion to do a celebrity endorsement of Everpet Catfood. (“Everpet – So Good a Celebrity Possum will eat it, even if your cats won’t.”)

For those readers outside North America, who might be unfamiliar with possums, an effort to describe them might most usefully begin with a reminder of the old saying about the camel having been designed by committee. The possum is the result of the committee’s feeling that it would be a shame to waste the bits left over after finishing the camel.

As you can see, Pumpy was not the slightest bit afraid of Maggie, the cat.

Pumpy is now being considered for a position as marketing consultant for Mainland Press.

Makes our mole pale into insignificance.

A pale mole would be quite something. An underground sensation.

Will Pumpy be an indoor or outdoor resident a’ Chez Gump?

My experiences with Pumpy’s brethren is that they salivate a lot, thus you may consider limiting his roaming range away from carpeted area.

Anyhow, congratulations on the new addition!

Thanks for the advice Kip. It leads me to think maybe he would be best in outside sales.
