A Performance Bonus goes to Michael Marra

10 Nov

The very first Augustus Gump performance bonus is unfortunately a posthumous one. Like just about everyone, I didn’t pay nearly enough attention to Michael Marra when he was alive, but his recent untimely passing caused me to listen to more of his music. Some of it takes a bit of getting into, but, even if it wasn’t so good, he’d still merit a bonus for writing a song about the Dundee United goalkeeper, as well as one called “Frida Kahlo’s Visit to the Tay Bridge Bar.”

The clip is the song they played at his funeral.
